About Breathe Yoga
A space for mindful movement, deep breath, and genuine connection.

Maya Chen
Maya discovered yoga during a period of burnout in her mid-twenties. What began as a way to manage stress quickly became a lifelong calling. She completed her 200-hour teacher training in Rishikesh, India, and later earned her 500-hour advanced certification with a focus on therapeutic yoga and pranayama.
Over the past 12 years, Maya has taught in studios across San Francisco, led retreats in Big Sur and Costa Rica, and worked one-on-one with clients recovering from injuries. Her teaching style is patient, precise, and deeply attentive — she believes the best yoga happens when we slow down enough to listen to our bodies.
Maya holds an E-RYT 500 certification from Yoga Alliance and is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT). When she isn’t teaching, you’ll find her hiking in Marin, reading poetry, or experimenting with herbal teas.
Our Philosophy
Yoga is a practice of returning — to the breath, to the body, to what matters.
Compassion First
Every body is different. Classes are designed to meet you exactly where you are, with modifications for all levels.
Mindful Movement
Yoga is more than exercise. Each class weaves breathwork and intention into movement for a whole-body experience.
Simplicity
Strip away the noise. Our practice focuses on the essentials — breath, alignment, and presence.
Community
A welcoming space where connections grow naturally through shared practice and mutual support.
“The body benefits from movement, and the mind benefits from stillness.”
